The great Imam also highlighted the plight of the Palestinian nation and took the stage to the world stage by declaring the last Friday from the blessed month of Ramadan as International Quds Day.
Imam Ali(PBUH), the infallible successor of the holy prophet says: Every day that you do not commit a sin in is a day of Eid for you.
The great Imam saw Eid as an opportunity for self- purification and extending help for needy, poor and oppressed people.
Muslims in numerous countries are celebrating Eid al-Fitr, a major religious festival marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
Muslims around the world attend special mass prayers and come together in family gatherings to celebrate the occasion.
The first day of the month of Shawwal on the lunar calendar is called Eid al-Fitr, which is decided when the first crescent of a new moon is sighted. During the Eid, Muslims attend communal prayers, listen to sermons and give Zakat al-Fitr or donations to the poor.
The auspicious holiday commonly begins with communal prayers at major mosques or other prayer sites after a predetermined amount of money is set aside as alms.
Muslims mark the rest of the day by wearing new or neat clothes and joining family members, relatives and friends to eat and have a good time together.
Also on Eid al-Fitr, Muslims are encouraged to be especially generous and forget any grudges against friends and relatives. There are an estimated 1.6 billion Muslims around the world, making up the majority in 49 countries.
Greetings to all Muslims, the students in Iran and abroad, and the Muslim youth (may God assist them) on the auspicious occasion of Eid al-Fitr. Felicitations to you, the enlightened and religious people who are making sacrifices for the realization of Islam's sublime goals that guarantee the welfare of the people, and fulfill their spiritual and material needs. Felicitations to the Muslims who submit to imprisonment, exile, torture and death defending Islamic tenets and the Muslim countries; and in freeing themselves from the yoke of imperialism and its evil agents; who endure every kind of deprivation in uprooting the forces of oppression.
Fitr is the day appointed by God Almighty for the Muslims so that, by their congregation for the prayers and sermons, relevant to every era, they can find their path in relation to Islam and its bloodthirsty enemies. However, Friday and Friday congregations have lost their impact owing to the pernicious propaganda, leaving the Muslims bereft of Eid in the present circumstances.
