Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini made remarks while addressing a closing ceremony of a festival of poets, academics and artists at the Niavaran cultural center.
The poets and artists at the festival had earlier presented their poetry and artistic works reflecting the ideals and thought of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic.
Seyyed Hassan Khomeini also reviewed a brief history of the literature and poetry and praised for the enriched literary history of Iran, and explained the characteristic of each era.
He also recited some phrases and stanzas from his own poetry works.
It is worth to mention that Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic has been a poet of great caliber in contemporary era. Imam’s poetry has been collected, published and has been translated into several languages.
Experts maintain that Imam’s poetry contain treasures of mysticism and reflect the inheritance of Islamic mysticism. His poetry also reflect the divine and human values.
Imam’s academic and divine legacy is becoming popular among intellectuals, academics and has become part of university curriculum in recent years in various countries.
Imam has been highly appreciated for his interdisciplinary approach and his well command over a range of fields such as philosophy, mysticism, Quranic interpretation, jurisprudence, poetry and literature.
