The plant, which has refining equipment as well as large amounts of chlorine and toxic chemicals, was found in the strategic city of Hit in the volatile province.
This came after Iraqi army troops backed by volunteer forces took control of the city and its surrounding neighborhoods in April and killed many Daesh terrorists. The items were left behind after Takfiri militants fled the city last month.
Ahmet Uzumcu, Director General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has already warned of “extremely worrying” signs that Daesh has developed the know-how to produce chemical weapons of its owns. “It proves that they have the technology, know-how and also access to the materials which might be used for the production of chemical weapons.”

In a latest incident on March 9, three civilians lost their lives and hundreds more suffered injuries after Daesh terrorists used chemical weapons against the Shia Turkmen town of Tuz Khurmatu south of the Iraqi city of Kirkuk.
Daesh terrorists have been committing vicious crimes against all ethnic and religious communities in Iraq, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians and others.
The Iraqi military and allied volunteer fighters against have flushed out Daesh militants from several regions across the conflict-ridden country.
It is worthy to mention that Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic through his speeches and messages announced strong opposition to all types of terrorism and violence. Imam also denounced manufacturing, storing or use of any type of chemical arms or the weapons of mass destruction.
Following footsteps of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Iranian officials have extended support to regional countries such as Iraq and Syria in their ongoing fight against terrorism.
