Dr. Nasir Mahdavi said that spiritual transformation, soul purification, a moral boost and inner change must happen during these blessed nights.
He went onto say that believers and faithful people also must get rid of any poisonous characteristics and decorate themselves with divine virtues.
The internationally-reputed scholar stressed that the holy prophets were sent to facilitate salvation and prove God, the Almighty’s love for the people.
He made remarks while addressing a gathering at Hosseiniah Jamaran, a religious center which is located in the northern part of the Iranian capital Tehran. The ceremony was also attended by Ayatollah Hassan Khomeini, grandson of the late founder of the Islamic Republic.
Imam Khomeini, the late founding member of the Islamic Revolution used to receive and address the gatherings, ceremonies and people from various echelon at the same site.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Dr. Mahdavi underscored that the holy book of Quran and Nahjul Balagah, which is a collection of peak of eloquence of Imam Ali, the leader of faithful people, put emphasis on the dignity and esteem for the mankind.
Imam Khomeini through his speeches, messages and works used to recommend the believers to pay special attention to self purification, recite holy Quran and supplications narrated by infallible Imams and distribute charity among needy people during the blessed month of Ramadan.
Family members and friends say that it was evident that Imam Khomeini had always experienced a spiritual transformation after this holy period.
