The late founder of the Islamic Republic, who had well command over a range of Islamic disciplines, said that the famous supplication known as “Dua Arafah” by Imam al-Husayn (peace be upon him), the Chief of Martyrs, contain deep points about monotheism.
The famous Dua has been narrated by Imam al-Husayn, the grandson of the holy prophet of Islam and one of his infallible successors, and has been transmitted through authentic Islamic sources.
It had been narrated that Imam al-Husayn at the occasion of Arafat left his tent with submission and reverence. He walked slowly until he, accompanied by a group of his household, sons, and servants, stopped at the left side of mountain `Arafat and turned his face towards the Holy Ka`bah.
The grandson of the holy prophet of Islam then raised his hands (for supplication) to the level of his face, and recited the supplication.
The late founder of the Islamic Republic frequently maintained that supplication by the holy prophet of Islam and his infallible successors contain treasures of mysticism and epistemology.
Imam Khomeini also wrote an insightful commentary and an exposition on Dua-ye-Sahar "Dawan supplication" during his youth period while he was only 27. The supplication has very deep mystic concepts about God's attributes.

Imam has left dozens of academic works such as Misbah al-Hidayah, an exposition on forty Hadiths, the hosts of intellect and ignorance, discipline of prayers, secret of prayers and several others. The works contain spiritual and mystical treasures.
