Addressing a ceremony in the city of Sarajevo, Mahmoud Heydari expressed hope that, in light of the holy Imam Khomeini’s ideals, we will witness the return of peace and unity among the Muslim world.
He made the remarks at the gathering which was held on the 29th departure anniversary of the father of Islamic Revolution and founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini.
The Islamic world has witnessed an all-out development regarding deep and rational understanding of religious teachings since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
The gathering was attended by intellectuals, scholars and prominent political and diplomatic figures from Iran and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Hossein Effendi Asimatich, deputy head of the Islamic Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been one of the prominent guests of honor at the commemoration ceremony.
Addressing the audience, he said that the whole effort of Imam Khomeini was to revive religion and reform religious thought.
Imam Khomeini confronted sectarianism and extremism because he deemed them as an obstacles on the way to Muslim unity and progress.
The ceremony commemorating the 28th anniversary of Imam Khomeini's death in Sarajevo, with the presence of Bosnian political, cultural and religious figures, was attended by leaders of Iranian institutions in Bosnia.
