Imam in this regard on various occasions said as following:
If we are not slaves to America, they would then cut their ties with us. We will ask God to help us cut these relations with the United States. We will not accept wretchedness just to have relations with the so-called superpower. (Sahifeh-ye-Imam, Vol.11, page 235)
It is better not to have relations with the plunderers. If we cut off our relations with them, they would then realize that there is a part of the universe called the East from where their civilization started. (Sahifeh-ye-Imam, Vol.11, page 235)
What is the use of having the kind of relations that we had before with a government like the United States which established a spying den instead of an embassy? Does establishing diplomatic relations near allowing that country to install an espionage center and ignore the sacrifices our youth have rendered for the revolution. (Sahifeh-ye-Imam, Vol.11, page 235)
We will not resume relations with the US unless the US mends its way and stop doing oppression. The US should not come across the world to Lebanon nor should it extend its hands towards the Persian Gulf. (Sahifeh-ye-Imam, Vol.19, page 85)
The US policy makers should change their mode of thought and policies. They should not think that they are to run the entire world and that all countries are at their disposal with closed eyes and ears. (Sahifeh-ye-Imam, Vol.18, page 271)
The US wanted to colonize us and ruin all our prestige, our Islamic prestige, our national prestige and our treasures. (Sahifeh-ye-Imam, Vol.16, page 159)
Do not imagine that our relations with America are to our interest. This looks like wolf-lamb relation! That is disadvantageous to lamb. They want to seize from us instead of giving us.
(Sahifeh-ye-Imam, Vol.10, page 254)
It is much better we be eradicated from the surface of the earth with honor by the treacherous hands of America and meet our Allah in glory than to live in comfort and luxury under the flag of the Black Army of the West… Perhaps, the day shall come when these powers see their mistakes and fall in the line of philanthropy, humanism and respect for the rights of others.
