5 June 2020, is the 57th anniversary of the historic uprising of the late Imam Khomeini (may his soul rest in peace), and the beginning of the Islamic movement of the Iranian nation which culminated in the victory of the Islamic Revolution in February 1979.
Following a historic speech by Imam Khomeini (RA) on that day, at the Faiziyeh Qom seminary, agents of the Pahlavi regime attacked the home of the late Imam in Qom and arrested the Imam.
On the day of Ashura in 1963, the late Imam Khomeini (may his soul rest in peace) made a historic and forthright speech, exposing the crimes of the Pahlavi regime and the secret relations between the Israeli and Pahlavi regimes.
The Iranian people in cities and towns throughout the country, rose in defense of the late Imam when he was arrested on 5 June 1963. Extensive demonstrations and rallies in defense of the Imam shook the Pahlavi regime to its core.
The popular protests against the hated Shah's regime led to suppression and arrest of the protesters. The agents of the regime also assaulted the Faiziyeh seminary school in Qom, martyring, injuring and arresting large numbers of people.
The historic 5 June uprising of the Iranian people, was the beginning of the confrontation between the Islamic movement of Iran, and the dictatorial Pahlavi regime, which finally culminated in February 1979, with the triumph of the Islamic Revolution of the Iranian people, led by the late Imam Khomeini (may his soul rest in peace).
