One of prominent pupil and associate of Imam has recalled through memoirs that the leader of the Muslim world had presented the basic theory of “the Islamic governance” during his stay in exile in the holy city of Najaf
Imam has left several works on jurisprudence, Hadith, Quranic interpretation, philosophy and mysticism. The great leader's genuine teachings and works would continue to guide the generations to come in coming decades.
The famous book titled "Islamic Government: Governance of Jurist" originated in a series of lectures delivered by Imam Khomeini at Najaf between January 21 and February 8, 1970.
Three major points emerge from the lectures. The first is the necessity for the establishment and maintenance of Islamic political power for Islamic goals, precepts, and criteria.
The second is the duty of the religious scholars (the fuqaha) to bring about an Islamic government and system. Third, a program of action for the establishment of Islamic governance, including various measures for self-reforms by the religious establishment.
Imam revived the divine and Islamic values by establishing Islamic –republic system when the entire world had plunged into social and moral decline.
