Imam Khomeini boosted unity among Iraqi tribes, ethnic and religious groups

A reputed scholars say that Imam Khomeini had been widely respected by all Iraqi people regardless of their religious or ethnic affiliation because the great leader of the Muslim world unity among Sunnis and Shias.

In an article published on Imam Khomeini’s portal in Persian language Hassan Hanizadesh wrote that Imam Khomeini, from the beginning of the movement in 1960s believed that all Islamic sects including Shia and Sunni Muslims should refrain from any division.  

Imam had been against sowing discord among Muslim nations and believed such conspiracies were hatched by the colonial powers and enemies who want to create strife among Muslims in order to extend their dominance.

Imam spent more than 14 years in the holy Iraqi city of Najaf, where he unhook entire efforts to boost unity among all the tribes of Iraq.

This can be considered as one of the brilliant achievements of Imam, who became central focus and figure of Muslim world.

It is worth-mentioning that worked beyond any sectarian affiliation to boost unity among Islam and other divine religions.

He went onto say that following the occupation of Iraq, the United States and its allies targeted the achieves and accomplishments of Imam, but all enemies efforts to undermine Muslim unity would be doomed to failure.
